Boy. Its been one heck of a first week back from the holidays.
So much had to be done that this little blog was relegated to the bottom of my to-do list. And remained there for quite some time.
The main hurdle last week was the UCAS & Oxbridge forms deadline. You could see students congesting the ITlabs throughout the college printing (wasteful) copies of their Personal Statements. I was among the guilty.
The crazy thing was that we had to print our PS's directly onto the two-page UCAS forms. So piles and piles of sample runs were wasted. And not to mention the amount of printer ink.
But even with a thousand test prints, we observed that if a printing error occurs it ALWAYS happens on the REAL UCAS forms. Thus abiding truthfully to
Murphy's Law.
Admittedly, the printer isn't the only cause of errors. One student had to fill up 4 UCAS forms before getting it right. Thus elevating Ms. Khasturi' s wrath to new heights. The poor lady. To think she's still recovering from an operation. Oxbridge applicants, you animals! The whole lot of you.
Glad its all over now. For us. Next come the onslaught of the Medics. Fortify your office, Ms. Khasturi.
