no man's an island, unless you're part of the quartet in L-21.

Most people have been wondering what I'm up to back in college, why I haven't been updating, and most importantly, who is the super-senior jerk going after their junior girlfriends back in college.

The answer to all three burning questions are intertwined. Well, all, except for the last one. ;)

I have been meaning to update about my situation here in college, what life is like and the people. I've written several really funny posts too, which are mostly incomplete, and by virtue of me harping on the humour factor, have thus unwittingly renderred them unfunny.

What I will talk about today is My Chalet (L-21) And The Amazing Thing That Happened On This Idle Monday Afternoon.

(Yes, my chalet is on the girls' side, surrounded by girls' chalets and facing the road. To be more precise we're actually surrounded by a 6-foot white fence, to protect us from the onslaught of females I suppose, and with a gigantic blue sign that says KEDIAMAN PELAJAR PEREMPUAN right at our doorstep. Probably Admin's idea of a joke. Well, ha-ha.)

So there I was, sitting at the edge of my bed, doing some papers (yes, I have been studying, thankyouverymuch) when I heard these loud crackling sounds. A whole succession of not-really-deafening-but-close explosions. I could feel the ground shake. My first thoughts were that the Amazonians living around us have finally attacked (quite an imagination, I know.) "I'll fight till from my bones my flesh be hack'd.
Give me my armour," I wanted to shout.

Then I turned to the floor and saw that the tiles seemed to have given way. They were cracking along their connecting lines. Right before my eyes. I instinctively leaped out of the room. From the window to the door, the cracks stretched. It was as if someone tried to squeeze the floor together. Try to imagine tectonic plates and the formation of mountains. Yep, you've about got the idea. Maaan, that has got to be one of my wierdest college experiences. In semester five.

So, when the floor gives way, in your neighbourhood, who you gonna call? Mr Warden, of course. I didn't really know how to explain it to him, so I just told him my floor gave way. He (naturally) joked, "Did you gain weight, Hazwan?" Considering my inactivity these past few weeks, despite it being Ramadhan, I thought dang!, maybe I did. Mr. Warden promptly came to inspect the damage (his suprised expression worthy of a Mastercard Priceless tag) and thereafter left to report the matter to the Admin.

Perhaps its a sign that I've been holed up in my room for too long. I really need to get out more. And considering the fact that they're probably going to declare my room a disaster area and seal it off, I would have no choice BUT to get out. more. permanently.

Here I sit, in the common area, having been compelled to record this incident. Waiting for the help Mr. Warden promised would come. Waiting. Waiting.

Though I suspect, like FEMA, they're probably going to take a while.
