Hibby-Jibbies.

Results are around the corner and many of you may be contemplating on skipping the whole alumni-resultsday traditional meet-up if you expect your A-grades to be in short supply.

Thanks to the wonders of technology, it is possible to receive our results prior to the official paper-slip receiving day. I am referring to the Mr B manned results via-email service. For superstitious reasons, we really ought to refer to this hardworking man as Mr A. AnywAy, not everyone has signed up for this service and I believe it is still possible to do so.

Your 1-2-3's are :

1) Create new mail and put your NAME and ID number in the subject line
2) Put the SUBJECT NAME, SUBJECT CODE and AS or A level in body. Repeat for the appropriate number of subjects.
3) Send it to exam_results@kyuem.edu.my

Your subject codes are the ones that appear on your latest statement of entry.

Here are the more common subject codes :
9709 MATHEMATICS
9708 ECONOMICS
9702 PHYSICS
9701 CHEMISTRY
9700 BIOLOGY

But really, I think you need to add some alphabet at the end of the subject number to specify whether you're resitting and stuff like that. So go refer to your statement of entry! If you have lost your statement of entry, click here to retrieve them. Or go to the CIE subject list site.

How much earlier will we be getting the results? Some say by about a week. Some specifically stated on the 8th of August. Btw, Alumni Weekend's scheduled on the 12th according to the SC.

Let us pray for excellence for the whole batch.
Hoping to see you at alumni/results/soon. =)

Bonne Anniversaire : Encore!

Hey its our second anniversary and nobody remembered. I guess its the state of being away from college that makes all events held within less relevant. Not that its a really bad thing.

Granted, last year, only one person remembered (lovely lovely Jia Yi) but she alerted the whole college thanks to her handwritten note on the board.

One year ago I had this posted. Our celebration, thanks to Taj and some others rushing out to get the cakes and whatnot, was mediocre at best. But it was perhaps a beginning since they've never done it before, to the best of my knowledge.

This year I hear they turned it up all the way to 11. They even made the juniors perform. Check out VeritasOnline for details.

Well, no matter. They still have their frantic UCAS form filling and A-levels to overcome. hehe.

Anyways, fellow super seniors, Happy Anniversary. Wishing all of you the best for your results. =)

Here's a picture to kickstart your journey down memory lane. greeting cards sold separately. ;)

p/s: smiling faces and dining hall food. did someone photoshop this picture? hehe

a new dawn.

"'midst malaysia's verdant uplands".
So begins the bilingual college signature tune.

Its been a couple of weeks since the college received its new hoard of over-eager over-achieving brats. Two weeks since those we fondly called our juniors began their new tenure as the big cheese of the college (mr small, pn rog, bursar, teachers, staff, janitors and monkeys aside.)

Two weeks since I planned this posting and saved it as draft. hehe.

Okay, we have a bit of catching up to do. So what has happened? There was induction week.
Details of which can be found here and here. Oh and there was Samurai. Click here. Hann also has a good write-up on it which can be found here.

Then there was the PETRONAS PANDEMONIUM. To summarise, its the whole farce about the WONDERFUL Petronas Management changing their minds last minute and shipping all the UK bound KMB petronas engineers to Australia and New Zealand. Now for the record, there's nothing wrong with Australian or New Zealand education. Its just that Petronas simply pulled the rug from under them a few days before our BTN. It was Madness.

And Petronas didn't even tell them personally. They only found out they were redirected to Aus and NZ when the good people of IDP (and I suppose its NZ counterpart) called them up to "congratulate them on receiving unconditional offers to so and so university in Australia".

Imagine the shock! Now the thing is, the same could happen to Petronas students from KYUEM and KTJ. Click here for some FAQ's by good ol' Fez. There are conflicting stories about what's to become of us since Petronas, being the super fortune-500 professional company that they are, doesn't seem to be able to get its story straight. It seems like even they don't know what's going to happen. Yup, that's our pride and joy right there. Malaysia Boleh! haha.

I do miss college right now. The juniors seem to be made up of very very fun people, just the thing the valley needs. Thanks VeritasOnline and Nickypang for keeping us updated! =)

"not on one nation, but on all nations."

Receiving the news of the blasts halfway across the world, in the comfort of your one's own home, (or at a BTN camp, as some of my JPA friends are) one cant help to feel detached from that shocking and terrible event.

But a terror attack such as that and its repercussions, taking innocent lives as it did, can not and must not be ignored. The attack will indeed affect us, as civilised people firstly and as citizens of a muslim country. The world at large has not yet forgotten Sept 11 and the unrestrained accusations that came along with it.

My prayer goes out to the innocent victims and the folk of london, especially to our seniors studying there right now.

May God's grace be with you.

For us, particularly those bound for UK, only time will tell how deeply the turn of events will affect our future.
