All that you should leave behind.

Everyone has their limits. There is only so much a person can do. Let alone if that person is a student. On scholarship. Struggling with impending life-deciding examinations. In a college. Deep in the verdant outlands.

Rather describes almost everyone in KMYS, oops, I meant KYUEM, don't you think ?

One question who's answer has always eluded me is : why. why does this (insert expletive here) college always come up with so many activities for its inhabitants? WHY?

Is it because the big guns are afraid that we, the wonderful creme de la creme, top-of-the-line, Malaysia's hopes and dreams, students might suffer in the most unimaginable inhuman way : That we might get BORED.

get bored? GET BORED?! Perchance they actually believe that people can die of boredom. heh.

This weekend we have Nostalgic Malaysia. Students from every house are practicing day and night sacrificing their study hours to pay homage to some dead guy. Okay, okay, he deserves some respect. But the fact is he's still dead. And if we don't study, we're most probably going to join him. It won't be too bad since most students know him on a first song basis now.

Next weekend, we have ICAN. The incredibally self-believing Islamic Cultural Arts Night. For that too, students are wasting away their study hours. For a good cause, definately. But, still.

Then a few weeks after that, we have the KMYS (oops KYUEM) Inter-College RUGBY Festival. We only have that much study hours to sacrifice. What now, sacrifice sports hours? Oh, wait, the MPH is closed down till APRIL. a mere coincidence ?

Oh, what's that around the corner after Rugby, ICAN, and Nostalgic Malaysia ? Why, if it isn't our MOCK exams. riiiight after the rugby thing.

And people actually wonder why our November A/AS-level results were not as satisfactory. In the wise words of Homer Simpson, "D'Oh!".

Must we do all this? Must we busy ourselves, wringing each other's necks, wringing our own necks, losing our temper, losing our sleep, losing our scholarships just for some bloody activity that will not in any direct way effect our university placement except possibly in the negative?

Speak not on time-management. Hush on bulding a community. And don't you even think of mentioning boredom.

Where do we draw the line to say enough is enough? Where do we stop and say "NO."? I think that's the most valuable lesson of all.

Priorities. We've got to know our priorities. Right now its getting straight A's and flying away from here.

The rest, you just have to leave behind.
