And so is this blog.
The Inter-House Debate is coming to a close after three rounds.
First Round :
Motion : This House Believes in National Service
GARNET (won) V SAPPHIRE
TOPAZ (won) V DIAMOND
Second Round :
Motion : This House Disagrees with the Previledges Accorded to
Oxford and
Cambridge
GARNET (won) V TOPAZ
SAPPHIRE (won) V DIAMOND
Diamond was therefore out of the running for the finals. Garnet got in automatically. Both decided to cancel their debate.
Third Round :
Motion : This House Believes that the Monarchies are Still Relevant to The Modern World
SAPPHIRE (won) V TOPAZ
It was generally agreed that the third round saw the best in both teams and the "most interesting and well-argued debate I've ever judged" according to Dr Foord. Quite true.
This means that the Finals will see defending champions GARNET V SAPPHIRE with the motion :
THIS HOUSE PREFERS FEMININITY OVER FEMINISM.
The debate will be held tomorrow
1st October 9.00pm at the Great Hall. Don't miss it. :)
